Stratovarius - Nemesis

Where? Where is the Nemesis? I cannot see that. Forgot to bring it? Hiding somewhere?

Stratovarius are back with the album "Nemesis" and Tolkki's departure seems long forgotten (or not?). This is actually not a bad album but it is divided into two areas; the really good songs and the dull songs that offer nothing to the listener. Some songs you will definitely remember, like the single "Unbreakable", the opener "Abandon" and also "Halkyon days", "Out of the fog". In the end the good moments of the album are less, with the rest to be the exact opposite of freshness.   The band considered hiring an orchestra to perform in the album, but they (unfortunately) abandoned the idea in the end. Epic chorus, many keybord parts, Matias Kupiainen doing many things (guitar, mixing, production and most composing) and Kotipelto performing well. They could use some more guitar riffs, as most of them are in keybords. There is also a guest performer; guitarist of Sontata Arctica  Jani Liimatainen, who recently worked with Kotipelto in "Blackoustic", taking part (including composing and songwriting) in the songs "Out Of The Fog" and "If the Story Is Over". The truth is that listening to some of the songs will totally fix your mood, a fact that is not implied by the title of the album. I guess the artwork could be better, being irrelevant with the content...

This is a really nice single though!
